Our story

There has to be an easier way

Victoria Winter never planned to leave retail. She planned to make it better.

For nearly twenty years — ten of them spent growing, scaling, and eventually selling her own apparel company — she lived every high and low of the industry. She knew the thrill of a packed sales floor and the satisfaction of a smart buy. She also knew the invisible work that weighed stores down: messy vendor data, clunky systems, and endless rework no one ever sees but everyone feels.

As retail evolved — with social media now a must, e-commerce and brick-and-mortar merging, and supply chains stretching further each year — that invisible work only grew heavier. And while the market filled with “solutions,” most just added more to a retailer’s plate.

Victoria wanted something different.

A way to protect a retailer’s time and focus, not consume it.

To handle the unglamorous but essential tasks, so owners and teams could get back to selling, creating, and growing.

That’s where Inventor-Ease was born — built for real stores, run by people who’ve actually been there.

And when her husband, Michael, joined her, the mission got even stronger: to give modern retail the kind of quiet, reliable support system it’s been missing for decades.

Our values

Principles that guide us

Lead with ease

The best system is a used system. We think through how every change will impact every user — from the owner to the seasonal hire — and we design solutions that fit naturally into daily life. No overcomplication, no extra steps, just tools you actually want to use.

People first

We love technology. We’re excited about AI. But its purpose is to empower people — to lighten workloads, to create better customer experiences, and to strengthen the retail ecosystem. For us, tech is only a win if it helps humans shine.

Strength in individuality

Independent retailers curate more than products — they curate culture, community, and connection. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all systems. We build tools that let you do you better, so your external brand stays distinct while your internal work runs seamlessly in the background.

Michael Winter

CEO

Michael Winter brings to Inventor-Ease 14 years of experience in getting to the root causes of issues and understanding the power of proper alignment from his career in interventional spine management. As a co-retailer with Victoria in their owned businesses, Michael has firsthand experience with the challenges independent retailers face. These two powerful components make him the perfect partner to help retailers ensure the foundation of their businesses are protected and supported for longevity and health. Just as he helped patients achieve optimal alignment in his medical career, Michael now helps retail businesses align their inventory systems with their business goals. His unique perspective combines clinical problem-solving with practical retail experience, allowing him to identify underlying issues that others might miss. Michael's commitment to building systems that support long-term business health rather than quick fixes makes him an invaluable guide for retailers looking to strengthen their inventory foundation.

Victoria Winter

Co-Founder, Chief Strategist

Victoria Winter has spent nearly two decades in independent retail and she is still deeply in love with it. She has been in the trenches, running stores, growing her own boutique into a thriving hybrid retail business, and navigating the highs and lows of an industry that never slows down. She is drawn to artisan goods and a beautifully curated shop, the kind where every piece has a story. Traveling is one of her greatest joys, especially when it leads to discovering one of a kind finds and connecting with the makers behind them. Over the years she also learned firsthand how inventory can quietly become one of the biggest challenges retailers face. After testing every possible fix she realized the problem was not just clunky systems. It was that small retailers were expected to handle it all themselves, often at the expense of the creative work they love. She built Inventor Ease to change that. Not another inventory tool, but a true inventory partner. A trusted team that plugs in and handles the details so retailers can focus on creating the kind of spaces, products, and experiences that keep customers coming back.
